Monastery Vault
THE STORY
Domenic Barranca is the perfect client for my freelance business. He’s a super-busy consultant in the wireless industry, but satisfies his passion for writing through his production company, Monastery Vault, which specializes in mobile content.
Time is always at a premium for Domenic, and he spends so much money on his productions, he has a limited budget for his website. Nevertheless, Domenic understands the benefits of a professionally-styled home for his productions, so initially he reached out to a Toronto-based agency to build Monastery Vault.
Domenic quickly burned through his budget with the very pricy design shop, so his website lived online half-finished for the better part of a year. That is until Domenic heard about my services.
HOW I HELP
To my delight, MonestaryVault.io was built on the WordPress platform, with a fairly intuitive website-builder plugin installed. My learning curve for the installation was swift, so we got to work immediately.
We condensed the website from four pages to one index page. Two of the elements in the top navigation direct to anchor points within the homepage. All the background information and contact form for Monastery Vault are only one click away—or a few scrolls down the page.
“Gregor Davidson has always been a trusted advisor in not only the technical side of digital / web management, but also has a deep understanding of how technical decisions affect key business outcomes. Monastery Vault loves working with him. Period.”
Domenic’s productions produce some very engaging imagery, so we use a large hero-image slider that directs visitors to the site’s most important feature, the mobile video content. We built posts for each video, and we use a category page for the production archive.
I helped Domenic clean up the copy, so it’s SEO-friendly, ensuring all metadata is present on the site, as well as on his YouTube channel, and I connected the site to his Google Analytics account. I continue to make sure WordPress and all the site’s plugins stay up to date.
THE RESULTS
I’m sure Domenic would love to invest more into Monastery Vault. As a full-time consultant and family man, it’s difficult for him to find the time and energy required for his passion project. Nevertheless, he has a tight and tidy, mobile friendly home for the visually stunning and touching story of ‘Giacomo the Pumpkin’ and the hilarious three-part series, ‘Robs Cooking Show.’
When Domenic is ready to ramp up production, he has a scalable web presence to support his productions and a very cost effective-resource in Barney’s Updates to assist with Monastery Vault’s continued growth online.
