Sonia Marques Medical Aesthetics
THE STORY
Sonia Marques is not only a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and Certified Medical Aesthetician, but she’s also a single mother of two wonderful boys, plus she’s the primary caregiver to her aging mother and father. Needless to say, Sonia doesn't have much time to figure out the digital world, let alone invest in her online presence for her medical aesthetics business.
To make matters worse, Sonia entrusted her first website build, including her domain registration and email integration, to a totally incompetent web design “professional.” Sonia was tangled in a web of digital frustration when we met on the side of the pitch at our son’s soccer practice. Fortunately for both of us, this is when our digital journey together began.
HOW I HELP
My first priority when Sonia and I started working together was to detach her email address from her web designer’s server. Unfortunately, this kind of entrapment is commonplace in the sometimes shady world of digital media. Next was to make sense of the Wordpress website she had paid thousands of dollars for. Sonia was clearly not satisfied with the project, so I rearranged the content for a much better user experience and also made it search engine optimized.
Despite completely upgrading Sonia’s WordPress site, it became increasingly obvious that this particular website wasn’t even necessary at all. Sonia used Square as her point of sale service, and they had a website builder included in their service. In a fairly short time, we rebuilt soniamarques.ca on the Square platform and seamlessly integrated her appointment scheduling within the site. The solution was cheaper, easier to manage and checked off all of Sona’s professional needs.
Unfortunately, when Sonia decided to move her point of sale to the Jane App, practice management software focused on health and wellness practitioners, the site obviously had to be moved off of the Square platform. So, we moved the site over to Squarespace and used simple user experience and button treatments to integrate the website with Sonia’s account on the Jane software.

THE RESULTS
Sonia finally has consistency, reliability and support in her digital journey. With all that’s on her plate, it’s not easy for her to find the time and energy to grow her medical aesthetics business, but one thing she doesn’t have to worry about is her website. Sonia can post her promotions, highlight her services, book her appointments and allow customers to contact her all from her online home, soniamarques.ca. When her needs evolve, I’m here to have all her problems solved. It’s a great partnership.
